you see, what bugs me is that i know a huge number of people who use AV cables with their cheap TV's on PS3.. all of those people including me are going to be very disappointed at sony ..
The site mentioned that a recent GameStop memo has been circling the net and has gamers buzzing with frustration. The memo, reveals that a new "k" model PS3 will be shipping to retailers this week. The new model will force gamers to utilize HDMI to display HD movies and games . The new model does away with the option to display HD content via component cables. In addition, the memo states that all future PS3 models will adopt this policy
So yea .. people with cheap TV's don't deserve playing games on their PS3
You see, Sony is implementing the change in order to comply with DRM standards which are known as the AACS Final Adopter Agreement. According to Wikipedia, "the Advanced Acess Content Systems AACS is a standard for content distribution and digital rights management, intended to restrict access to and copying of the "next generation" of optical discs and DVDs"
That means that the agreement stipulates that no Blu-Ray player ma be manufactured or sold which outputs decrypted AACA content via analog output (AKA AV Output)
Well, Lets' consider this a rumor for the time being, We already hate Sony enough we don't need more hating for now :)
